200 word reflection Based on my initial understanding of belonging, I believe it is an instinctive nature for all to forge and develop

bonds. Coming from an Asian background, there is a strict code where my identity has been characterized by social expectations. Through my personal experience, my parents have taught me the expected mannerism and this has helped me fit in society. Only such conformation to mannerism and respect will allow me to belong. This formulates the foundations to my understanding of belonging as I have realised that adhering to certain expectations can facilitate my individual sense of belonging. Resulting to those that abide will develop a civilised character and those that oppose tend to be more rebellious. Everyone originates similarly however over time it is the sense of belonging that will ultimately dictate our identity. In reference, one of the most important aspects of belonging is explored through Wendell Berry, The world is what we have all in common, is exemplar of the common goals we grow up to achieve a sense of belonging. Over time as we grow we develop mutual bonds, such as friends, which can assist us to be more cohesive, achieving satisfaction, or contentment through social connections. So what are the consequences to breaking the rules?
