Ritchies SUPA IGA Donates $25,000 to Sydney Bushfire Victims


The 70 Ritchies SUPA IGA Supermarkets and Liquor Stores across Victoria, NSW and Queensland and their customers have donated $25,000 to the Salvation Armys appal to help the victims of the Sydney bushfires. A member of the Australian independent retailing icon IGA, Ritchies SUPA IGA is using funds raised by its Community Benefit Program, where a percentage of the money spent by the networks customers are donated to disaster relief, as well as local community groups. Mr Fred Harrison, Chief Executive of Ritchies SUPA IGA Stores, We have 27 supermarkets across Sydney and the rest of NSW and are delighted to work with the Salvos to provide much needed relief to those families affected by the fires. All of our hearts at Ritchies go out to the Blue Mountains community and we are proud to have funds that can be directed toward disaster relief, like we have distributed after the recent Queensland floods, the Indonesian tsunami and fires in Victoria, he added. IGA and its supplier Metcash are also contributing food and goods to charities St Vincent de Paul and Sydney Care to support the bushfire victims in this time of need.
