There was a fifteen years old girl whose name is Jemma Marsh, but everybody knows her as Jem.

She lives with her adoptive mother because her real mother died when she had four years because of a heroin overdose. Ever since Jem was a child, she has kept a secret. Whenever she meets someone new, no matter who, and she looks into their eyes, a number appears into her head. Actually that number is a date, the date they will die. Jem avoids relationships only because of her special ability. One day she went to the park for a walk. There she meets a tall, black guy whose name is Spider. At first she didn't want to become friend with Spider until she finds out that he is the only one who can understand her. One day they went at the London Eye . Jem looked into every person eyes and she saw that everyone had the same numbers. She told Spider to run somewhere away from the London Eye because something bad could happen. When they looked back they saw that the London Eye exploded and thousand of pieces started to fly. A surveillance camera saw them running and the Police started to follow them. They had to hide into Spiders house, where he was living with his Grandmother. Spiders Grandmother helped them to disguise and gave them some food to have on the road. They ran for 3-4 days, but the police caught Spider in park. Jem stayed in a bush until the Police left. She ran all day and in the afternoon a girl found her. That girl took Jem to her house and gave her a bed to sleep, some food, a shower and some new clothes, but to receive all these Jem has to leave in the morning early. In the morning girls father came home, and Jem finds out that he was a policeman. She freaked out because she didnt know to get out. The girl told Jem that she will keep her father busy until she will get out through the back door. After Jem got out from the house, she thanked the girl for everything. Finally the police caught her too. While the Police was holding Jem, her adoptive mother appeared. She apologized Jem for all the mistakes she made. Jem told her that she has no reason to apologize and actually she should apologize to her adoptive mother. Her adoptive mother talked to the cops and told them that Jem was too afraid to face them and that was the reason she ran away. They gave Jem one month to do community work. After that month

everything was normal and Jem was happy. Even though she was followed by police, everybody started to talk to her at school and she made a lot of friends.

Ea locuieste cu mama ei adoptiva pentru ca mama sa adevarata a murit cand avea doar 4 ani de la o supradoza de heroina. De cand Jem era un copil, ea a tinut un secret. Oricand intalneste pe cineva nou, nu conteaza cine, si ea se uita in ochii lor, un numar ii apare in cap. Defapt acel numar este o data, data mortii lor. Jem incearca sa stea departe de relatii doar din cauza abilitatii speciale. Intr-o zi s-a dus in parc pentru o plimbare. Acolo intalneste un baiat inalt, negru al carui nume este Spider. La inceput ea nu voia sa devina prietena cu Spider pana afla ca acesta este singurul care o poate intelege. Intr-o zi ei s-au dus la Ochiul Londrei. Jem s-a uitat in ochii fiecarei persoane care era acolo si ea a vazut ca toata lumea avea aceleasi numere. Jem i-a spus lui Spider sa fuga undeva departe de Ochiul Londrei pentru ca ceva rau avea sa se intample. Cand s-au uitat in spate Ochiul Londrei explodase si bucati incepusera sa zboare. O camera de supraveghere ii vazuse fugind de acolo, iar politia a inceput sa o ia pe urmele lor. S-au ascuns in casa lui Spider, unde locuia cu bunica lui. Ea i-a ajutat sa se deghizeze ca sa poata fugi si le-a dat mancare ca sa aiba pe drum. Au reusit sa se ascunda pentru 3-4 zile, apoi politia l-a prins pe Spider. Jem fugise toata ziua, iar in dupa amiaza aceea o fata a gasit-o. A luat-o pe Jem la ea acasa si i-a dat de mancare, i-a oferit un pat, dar cu conditia de a pleca dimineata la prima ora. Dimineata tatal fetei a venit acasa, iar Jem afla ca acesta era politist. Ea a innebunit pentru ca nu stia cum sa iasa. Fata i-a spus ca o sa-l tina pe tatal ei ocupat, in timp ce ea o sa iasa prin spate.

Dupa ce a iesit din casa Jem i-a multumit fetei si a plecat mai departe. In sfarsit politia o prinde si pe ea. In timp ce politia o tinea a venit si mama sa adoptiva
