Grade Level & Subject Area: 8th Grade Social Studies Common Core Framework: CCSSRH.6-8.3 Identify key steps in a texts description of a process related to history/social studies. Objective (What are the students going to accomplish): The students will create a Prezi presentation explaining how the Electoral College operates. Materials: Computer, Prezi account Procedure: The Prezi must include at least 10 slides. There must be at least 5 pictures and a video. The students will present their Prezi to the class using narration and describing their slides more in-depth. Along with the Prezi presentation, the students will write a one to two page paper on how they feel about the Electoral College. Should it be abolished? Is it a good balance of powers? Assessment (How will the students show you that the objective has been met) The students will demonstrate competency in the Electoral College by completing the presentation and the paper.
