I would welcome the opportunity to gain a hands-on experience in a public relations, marketing and management setting. This past summer, I had the privilege to be the Norditropin brand team intern at Novo Nordisk where I learned the several facets that go into the maintenance of a product and new brand campaign releases. During these weeks, I created a previously non-existent competitive intelligence catalog so the brand team had a repository of key marketing resources available on demand. I also acted a project manager for Norditropins resources inventory system where I reduced overall storage volume by 36 percent by identifying non-value added resources. Novo Nordisk developed a separate set of marketing skills than the social media promotional set I practice through my participation in the UMDs chapter of American Marketing Association (terpAMA). I have also attained leadership experience and management techniques as the Venue Director on Student Entertainment Eventss (SEE) executive board by contributing in the production of nearly 70 UMD events a year, ranging from 100 to 8,000 students in attendance per event. Specifically, I coordinate the venue and services with campus departments and outside contractors for each event, which requires strong multitasking abilities. The internship team would certainly find my production and management background in event programming as an asset to the project.
