Injustice with Tribal Students

The south Gujarat particularly known as tribal belt consists tribal districts
like Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Dangs etc. Most of
the Adivasi students are getting Higher education from Veer Narmad south
Gujarat University which is situated in Surat. For many of time this has
been observe that in this university the quality of education is getting
worse day by day and for this the Adivasi students are paying the cost
which is quite critical. The coordination between collages exiting in this
areas and university is not satisfactory in terms of the wide range of
university from Bharuch to Dang it’s very difficult for university to manage
well.

In these areas the Adivasi students those who has good economic
condition are going another university like Sardar patel University V.V
Nagar and North Gujarat, Saourashtra and other universities for better
education by paying higher donations and fees but what about those who
cannot afford to get the opportunity to study. The poor student has no
option to go the nearest collages in which the subjects are not quite well
for further studies. The lack of awareness about the further courses, poor
infrastructure, and lack of proper guidance, the poor students are getting
dropped out from the collages. This can be led to big threat for the
development of Adivasi.

Apart from lack of intervention by the civil society organisations and of

course government organisations the tribal are facing a lot of problems in
these areas. The political intervention has to happen during the election
time and they are taking the advantages of illiterate, unaware, poor
people.

In 2007 the State government has announce Rs. 15,000 crores packets for
the tribal development called VANBHANDHU KALYAN YOJNA, it is also
known as Chief Ministers ten point programmes which covered health,
education, irrigation, economic development, road , water and urban
development. Its seems to be more effective schemes so far but in has
been also observe that the implementations of all the programmes are not
much effective in terms of they are still failed to reach out to the poorest
of the poor tribal family.
