LEsson 1 Assignment: What Is This Thing Called Love - Solo

The solo is divided in 4 parts of eight bars each. We could call the parts "A" "A1" "B" and "A2" Part "A": the solo is played mainly in eight notes and it uses a lot of chroatic scalesPart "A1": The chords are the same as part "A", but improvisation usesa different rythm, specially triplets, anticipating always the note for the next chord, but keeping the chromatisms mainly. The second four bars of this part uses less chromatisms, but more scales, and uses longer notes as well, giving the solo a bit of relaxing atmosphere to prepare the part "B" Part "B": Here it takes the menor mode over Cminor, and the melodic line changes to an easier way, made by syncopation, and using mostly notes from the chord, without any ornaments. Part "A2": same chords as in parts "A" and "A1", and the melodic line uses a bit of both, A, and B (Chromatisms from "A" and syncopation from "B"), and over the third bar of this part, until the end of the solo which uses scales without tensions mainly.
