11:11 a.m. MC calls on Boy Scouts to front and center, honor the meaning of Veterans Day and raise the National Ensign 11:20 a.m. MC asks Veterans and Active Duty to stand by branch (Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard), be recognized. 11:25 a.m. MC introduces Melissa Andersen, Serrano History Teacher, for background on "Albert H. Small: Normandy Institute - Sacrifice for Freedom program for high school students. She then introduces featured speaker Morgan Owen. 11: 35 a.m. Morgan Owen gives her impressions of Washington, D.C., Normandy Institute, her trip to Normandy, France, the selection of her World War II service member, and then reads the Eulogy of Lt. Roy Eisele, US Army Air Corps. 11:50 a.m. Serrano Choral Ensemble sings medley, American Heros ( Songs of the Services) and concludes with America the Beautiful. MC urges audience to join in. 11:55 a.m. MC asks audience to stand, reads list of those killed at the Washington Navy Yard in senseless shooting: Mary Knight, Sylvia Frasier, Gerald Reed, Frank Kohler, John Johnson, Mike Arnold, Kathy Gaarde, Michael Riddel, Marty Bodrog, Ken Proctor, Arthur Daniels, Kisan Bishnu Pandit. Also reminds audience of the military casualties in the War in Afghanistan, hold memory of their sacrifice in their prayers/thoughts.
