12 November 2013 Dear Andy Todd, I've carefully considered the Libguide, have developed a standardized style sheet

to guide decisions, and have applied that format to Practice Exercise 3, Parts A,B, and C. An edited, markup copy of Practice Exercise 3 is attached. I believe that the editorial decisions support the message of the Libguide by establishing and maintaining consistent typography, punctuation and style throughout the document. As previously, Ive attempted to sharpen your excellent content for the end-user by making commands, typing instructions, and work-process directions consistent in terms of font and style. Some of my alterations are to align the Libguide with the UCF style guide and others reflect my personal preference. With that being said, understand that no significant content or format changes are necessary. All the alterations have been of the window-dressing variety. As Ive mentioned in a previous letter, the changes I recommend are as follows: General formatting suggestions o Primary heading Helvetica 16pt, Boldface o Alternate/subheadings Helvetica 14pt, Lightface o Body text Helvetica 12pt, Lightface o Note: for additional suggestions, please see attached style guide Making use of the light bulb icon whenever parenthetical information is offered allows the enduser to note special directions or explanations. I would suggest using this method throughout the document. All hints, suggestions, and notes are set apart from the text, in a single light blue/italicized font as in the original document. Concerning illustrations: moving screen shots inline with the text, eliminating those screen shots that dont provide direction (i.e. there is no need to place the graphic of Get Full Text inline with directions to click on Get Full Text), and placing images on the document in such a way that they follow the instructions they refer to, are slightly indented, and are sized appropriately so as to not overwhelm the page. Concerning in-text quizzes: questions and multiple choice answers are separated from the instructions, enclosed within a 1 point text box, and distinguished from directions with sufficient white space.

It has been a pleasure working with you and I look forward to a successful and mutually satisfactory completion of the project. Kind Regards, Christopher Bates
