    Summary Dahej manufacturing Division of Reliance comprises of an ethane / propane recovery unit, a gas cracker, a caustic chlorine plant and downstream plants, which manufacture polymers and fibre intermediates. They had a requirement to remove old PUF/PIR insulation and apply Armaflex Insulation System to the Propylene Sphere Tank of diameter 14.5 meters operating at -15 OC . Location Dahej, Gujarat

    WITH PROJECT REFERENCE

    The Sphere tank insulation system was designed with the help of the engineering team of RIL. Armaflex Fire Protection System was installed over the entire tank and all the supporting legs to render Thermal & Passive Fire Protection System. The main objective of such Fire protection system is to Delay/prevent tank failure which could otherwise lead to a catastrophic explosion in the event of fire. Armaflex products were preferred over traditional insulation products, due to closed cell nature of insulation material, flexibility of insulation and possibility of using non metallic cladding system. Armaflex products installed were 3 layers of Class O Armaflex sheets, 1 layer of Armaflex Protect R-90 and Arma-Chek T. Armaflex Fire Protection System offers long term technical performance. It helped the customer to achieve higher surface temperature, as compared to the previous insulation.With reduced installation time and cost the system offered required performance to the customer.
