global showcase that is the Indian International Film Academy
Awards, the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race and the
Tour of Britain Cycle Race.
We have also secured prestigious events
like the UK School Games, the European Fencing Championships
and the World Short Track Skating Championships and are
currently in negotiations for many, many more.

High-Speed Connections
Getting to Yorkshire and Humber – and getting around once
you’re there – couldn’t be easier. Strategically located mid-way
between London and Edinburgh, the region benefits from a
superb network of national and international travel connections.
It has more motorways than anywhere else in the UK, the largest
port complex in the country, and direct connections by air to
dozens of international destinations. Lapland

On the rails, two major north/south networks,
the country’s main cross-country network and a primary east/
west route all run through Yorkshire and Humber. London is just
two hours away by high-speed train, with onward connections
to mainland Europe via the Channel Tunnel.

provided by an extensive motorway network. The region is
clustered around the motorways connecting the south of the
England with Scotland, and also with those traversing the
