Plot
In the Hungers Games, the plot is about a girl, Katniss Everdeen and her family enslaved in district 12. Her little sister is then chosen to fight in the seventy six annual hunger games which is a fight to the death between teenagers from all twelve districts. Katniss takes the place of her sister and fights instead for her. She then meets the other district twelve contender, Peeta Mellark. The book then leads up to this fight to the death. Eventually Peeta and Katniss fall in love and become the winners of the hunger games even though there can only be one winner. At the end of the book there is supsense whether Katniss likes Gale, a boy from home, or Peeta.

Characters
Katniss Everdeen- She is a very brave independent person who actually finds her feelings mixed between Peeta and Gale. Peeta Mellark- Peeta stands up for what is right but fears the future and is very unsecure. Gale- Gale is a emotional safe heaven for Katniss. He is bold and also stands up for what is right.

Theme and Genre

The main theme of the book is the government control and how that might become a reality in the future. Also Katniss starts rebellions and outburst against the government because she has brought hope. The Genre of the book is fiction.
