Global Warming One of the biggest problems facing the world today is global warming.

It is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth s near surface air and oceans. The reckless f elling of trees, rash industrialisation, luxurious automobiles and pompous comforts are ce aselesslyfanning out the cancer of pollution. The result is the green-house effe ct in which the green-house gases like carbon di oxide, methane and water vapour trap the heat of the sun andmake the earth warmer. This essay will examine the problem of global warming and suggestsome solutions for it.Many problems could r esult from global warming. One of the biggest is rising sea level. Thiscould res ult in the flooding of low lying coastal areas and cities, such as Egypt, theNet herlands, and Bangladesh. Another problem is changes in weather patterns. Many a reasof the world are experiencing increased hurricanes, floods, and other natura l disasters. Afinal issue associated with this phenomenon is the negative effect on animals. Fishpopulations could be effected, while some insects which spread disease might becomemore common. There are several things we can do to deal with global warming. One answer is to stopmaking C02. We can do this by switching fro m oil, coal and gas to renewable energy. Asecond solution is to plant more trees . Trees absorb C02 and produce oxygen, which is not agreenhouse gas. A third ide a is to use less energy and recycle more products. We can do carpooling, use mor e public transport, drive less, buy fuel efficient vehicles and accept recycled materials. If we use less energy and are more environmentally friendly, the eart h s temperature may not rise too much.In conclusion, making small changes now in the way we live means avoiding huge changes inthe future. Scientists, governments a nd individuals must work together to overcome thisserious threat. Global warming positive side1. G.W. would lengthen the growing season at high latitudes2. more atmospheric CO2 is known to spur plant growth3. warmer winters would lengthen the navigation season on lakes, rivers and harbour s whereseasonal ice cover is a problem4. G.W. would have economic benefits for people living in cold climate because less home heatingneeded in winters
