The Great Depression was a period of worldwide economic depression during World War II. Many people lost their homes, jobs and money due to this vast depression. Many people had put all their money into the stock market to grow their wealth, but once the stock market crashed, people ended up losing everything they owned. His plan was to put people to work, by the government itself recruiting people for jobs. Roosevelt, Franklin 1933 Inaugural Address, Our greatest primary task is to put people to work. This is no unsolvable problem if we face it wisely and courageously. It can be accomplished in part by direct recruiting by the Government itself, treating the task as we would treat the emergency of a war, but at the same time, through this employment, accomplishing greatly needed projects to stimulate and reorganize the use of our natural resources. He meant that by putting people back to work as the first step to bring America back from the depression. For the first R Relief he wanted to put people back to work, as in everyone, it was to employ the unemployed and help the poor start over again.

Roosevelt stated that he would rather put the countries emergencies first over international adjustments. FDRs Inaugural Address Our international trade relations, though vastly important, are in point of time and necessity secondary to the establishment of a sound national economy. I favor as a practical policy the putting of first things first. I shall spare no effort to restore world trade by international economic readjustment, but the emergency at home cannot wait on that accomplishment. FDR believed that in order to accomplish things internationally we have to fix things at home first. For his second part of the New Deal he plans to recovery the economy. For this plan to work the Nation has to play a role as the good neighbor, by taking and giving, respecting others and have common discipline. Reform, the last and most important piece of the this way to bring the country out of depression, was to be able to take the constitutional duty to be able to handle any situation with any foreign foe in order for congress to gain its wisdom and a speedy adoption of this sense of knowledge. Franklin Roosevelt took a big leap of faith in making this New Deal. Roosevelt got America through the Great Depression, thought America didnt quit bounce back but he made a great difference.
