The two papers that I decided to post are Cohabitation and Conflict Resolution. These are two chapters in the book that had the most impact and useful information. They also made me think more about my position on these subjects and evaluate my beliefs on them. Cohabitation has been on the rise. I was always under the impression that that by cohabitating you could avoid a marriage that was set up to fail. It was very surprising to find out the failure rate on marriages that began in cohabitation was so much higher than ones that didnt. Conflict resolution is a skill we all need to be able to use. Conflict is a part of life and if it is dealt with positively good things can come of it. It can bring people closer together and give them a better understanding of each others feelings. I have learned that you dont have to agree with the other person. Sometimes just respecting their thoughts and beliefs can go a long way towards a calm understanding.
