I feel that this experience aligns with Standard 9 Reflection: Teachers are able to evaluate themselves. I chose to align this artifact with standard 9 because I was able to reflect on what I observed and taught at Platteville High school as well as reflecting on my PACCE grant project !y reflections during my pre"student teaching really helped me revise how my class was doing It also made me ta#e a loo# at what #ept my students engaged and what were some things I thought I could change around or do without !y PACCE grant reflection was nice as well because every student in the group filled out a reflection It is sometimes challenging to reflect on yourself$ but now that others are giving their input it helps to sometimes find things you can fix that you missed I feel that these artifacts show that I am able to ta#e teaching and observation opportunities and reflect on them to ma#e sure my lesson was appropriate for that day or those students %y reflecting on my teaching opportunities$ I believe this is smoothing out my rough edges as a future teacher by showing me ways to do things properly$ showing me things that might not wor# and how to change them

I feel that this experience aligns with KSD4.e.Grows and Develops Professionall . I feel as though my reflection shows distinct replication that is in the best interest of the student I was able to change instruction strategies$ adjust the s#ill level$ and length of lessons to suit the needs of my students !y PACCE grant reflection gave me the ability to reflect on myself and group members$ but also$ see what their reflections were about me to show me what I need to wor# on or do better which was very beneficial to me %eing able to write a grant for your school$ in my opinion$ is one of the most important s#ills for a teacher Having that #nowledge$ you can give your students the best e&uipment to use during the school year After this grant project$ I was able to go bac# and review what I did with great feedbac# so that I could correct one of the most important aspects as a teacher 'ne area I really believe I improved on was my leadership s#ills I always had confidence in anything I did because I #now I will accomplish what I need to and any obstacle I will overcome I did not #now how I would accomplish success teaching with no assistance$ it was a scary experience but because of my confidence$ I #new my best would result in success After being over at the high school for a couple of observations and lessons my cooperating teacher ended up having to ta#e a day off and had a substitute come in (tudents were not as engaged and started to wonder around without the discipline of their everyday schedule After teaching there for a couple of lessons and

observing$ I #new that)s not how the classroom should not be run so I decided to carefully step in not stepping on the substitutes toes by using discipline and motivational techni&ues I have learned from my cooperating teacher !rs *orwald I felt li#e after that day$ my leadership role became very clear to me I really got the hang of how a functional class should be run and I can now carry those experiences with me throughout my future

I learned that it is impossible to #now or be prepared for everything throughout this experience +eflecting on yourself while listening to others suggestions is going to benefit my future success %y reflecting on my experiences$ it really helped me cope with students issues and struggles as a teacher ,his really gave me the #nowledge of how to change a lesson on the fly and find ways for lessons to wor# better in the future I feel that teachers should reflect on everything they do but also have students reflect bac# on them ,a#ing the strong ideas from them$ on ways that you can change$ to fit their need or comfort levels I plan to continue learning about myself as I reflect on my lessons thrughout my future$ but also having others give me feedbac#$ because you don)t always catch eveything yourself 'nce you receive input from others$ and yourself$ on things$ you will be able better yourself as a teacher but also your students for their future
Explain %hat you learned about yourself as a prospective educator as a result of this experience/artifact:

As I have observed other teachers$ and even reflect on myself$ I found out that it is important to reflect on all areas of your teaching It)s helpful to have those reflections for the following year when you teach that lesson again +eflecting on past mista#es avoids repeating the same mista#es or non"beneficial activities that students did not benefit from or li#e ,his is a great way for a teacher to plan new lessons$ modify old ones or even add new things into a lesson I have also learned that once you have come up with ways to teach specific lessons don)t stop there ,here are so many different ways out there to #eep up with today)s world such as technology It can improve lesson plans and #eep up by implementing new things for units that teachers should #eep up with ,echnology is a main resource for teachers these days$ and I plan to use a lot of youtube clips to show students a clear image of the way things are correctly performed but I will also use video recording to reflect on my students progress and myself
