Self-Assessment Participation and Preparation: 3 I believe that I prepared well for this assignment.

I paid much attention to our writing exercises in class and spent much time outside of class writing about possible topics for the essay. Peer Response: 3 Before my peer review group met, I took a significant amount of time to read and annotate both essays. I felt that I left detailed positive feedback and I worked diligently to come up with good suggestions that I believed would help their papers. During the conference, I felt that I was able to engage with the two other students and give and receive writing suggestions that could improve our papers. Final Draft Assessment Thesis/ Argument: 3 I liked my topic and believed that the actual thesis statement was written well. I am unsure though whether or not I actually developed the essay enough to actually explain my thesis in detail. I believe I definitely had the authority to write about my topic and therefore, make an argument. Evidence: 2 After my peer review, I worked hard to provide more evidence to support my generalizations. I used mostly personal experiences with my roommate to support my claim. For other parts of the paper I had to do outside research but overall my research was very minimal. Most of the evidence is comprised of personal anecdotes. Organization: 2 I definitely struggled with the organization of my paper. Because I am very accustomed to writing very strict 5 paragraph essays, this new writing concept was very challenging for me. I especially felt challenged when trying to gauge when I had provided enough information to make a convincing argument. Presentation: 2 The final product of my essay is questionable. Unfortunately, I dont feel as confident in it as I would have hoped. While I feel that I made some bold and hopefully interesting claims and provided sufficient evidence to support them, I still wish I could have done more to make the paper more personal and interesting.
