In recent years, a number of business executives posed this question. HRs contribution to organizationa performance cast serious doubts. If Human Resource has been tagged as ineffective and cost y, it doesnt contribute to the companys bottom ine. In this age of fast!paced techno ogy and g oba ization, Human Resource has become more necessary than ever. "he e ectronic age has bought competitive forces to company doors, and managers have to confront and face them square y to achieve a better mar#et position and organizationa exce ence. HR today has to continue its $or# to$ards achieving exce ence through qua ity, team$or#, and reengineering. %o this proves that HR is rea y necessary. &ut sti , the question is' ()hat shou d HR do no$?* &asica y, the ro e of an HR +ersonne is to putting the right peop e on the right ,ob at the right time. -nd aside from that, to ta#e good care of their emp oyees so that in return they cou d give trust and oya ty, and that is the resu t of having a reputab e image of the company. HR shou d focus on resu ts and not entire y on the usua traditiona activities and the proper imp ementation of HR practices $i resu t into improved productivity, high performing emp oyees and cost effectiveness. In the ong run, the companys bottom ine is something to oo# for$ard to because emp oyees are ab e to produce qua ity products and services to its customers. "he future dictates a scenario that is not typica of the usua economic gro$th $herein more peop e are assigned to $or#, but rather, productivity comes from the abi ity of any country to deve op and maintain #no$ edge $or# and #no$ edge emp oyees to the core of business processes. It is not simp y the popu ation .more peop e, better productivity/ that ma#es a business on a competitive edge, but the steady supp y of #no$ edge $or#ers is $hat counts. "hat is one of the ro es of a Human Resource +ersonne . "o find #no$ edgeab e $or#ers that $ou d fit for the right ,ob at the right time. -n HR $i a so determine the ro e of that emp oyee and to orient him $ith the po icies and standards of the organization before putting him into the ,ob. 0ob descriptions shou d not encourage emp oyees to $or# on y inside the box. 1mp oyees shou d earn a so to be f exib e and confident in their abi ities.
