Baseline test Edmodo: 1. Teenagers: Teenagers are distinctive in the media.

They are usually represented as being either a drug user, an avid and obsessed gamer, as being obsessed with looks and weight, or a knife wielding thug. This is shown numerous times in games such as Grand Theft Auto V, with Jimmy the main characters son - being an obsessed gamer and drug user, whilst in comedies such as Modern Family, Haley is obsessed with looking good at all times. Then, we have Eastenders, where the majority of teenagers who arent related to the plots are mostly hooded gang members, and at times we even have main teenager characters that are also thug-like in manner and dress. This is not a very accurate representation of what teenagers are really like, because there is a huge variety of personalities and styles and during my school years whilst Ive encountered other teenagers who fit those stereotypes, most of them dont actually fit any. They may be portrayed like this because it is more interesting to have teenagers as being dangerous or lazy, and also for comedic affect when they are obsessed with looking good.
