2012 Citation Program in Applied Geostatistics

Maptek is pleased to announce the 8th Citation Program in Applied Geostatistics. This accredited course involves theoretical and practical aspects, with the objective of providing knowledge in the theory and use of modern geostatistical tools, with emphasis in mining. This course combines academic knowledge with industry experience in a convenient four-week format.

Instructors
Dr. Clayton Deutsch is a Professor and Director of the School of Mining and Petroleum Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta. He teaches and conducts research about the geostatistical methods applied to resource estimation and grade control. Chad Neufeld is a Mining Engineer who completed a Master of Science degree in Geostatistics under the direction of Dr. Clayton V. Deutsch. Chad has almost 10 years experience with geostatistics and currently works as a consultant with Statios Software & Services Inc.

Course Accreditation
Once the final project has been developed and approved, each student will be awarded a Citation in Applied Geostatistics from the Faculty of Extension at the University of Alberta, Canada. This citation is a formal statement of the achievements of the person receiving the academic honor and is officially recognized for later courses. On acceptance into a formal post degree program in the University of Alberta, such as M Eng, M Sc and PhD, the Citation would gain the student credit for a full semester course: "MIN E 710: Mining."

Location
Maptek North America 165 S. Union Blvd., Suite 888 Lakewood, CO 80228 The course will be conducted in Mapteks state-of-the-art training room which can accommodate up to 20 students. A computer will be provided for each participant during the course, along with the necessary software and internet access during the four-week course. Course materials will be included.

Registration and Costs

Prerequisites
A general understanding of geological deposits and basic grade estimation techniques preferred. Familiarity with Vulcan software is not required.
