Chapter 12
At present, Shikarpur 220 kV Substation is being fed through 500/220 kV substation at Guddu through Guddu - Shikarpur 220 kV S/C transmission line on one side and U hShikarpur 220 kV S/C transmission on the other side! At Guddu, the e"isting #"$50 %VA, 500/220 kV transformers are suffi ient to transfer po&er from the e"isting po&er plants of Guddu and U h to 500 kV s'stem! (o&e)er, as per the latest generation e"pansion plan, additional $50 %* po&er plant +U h2, has been planned at the same site of e"isting 500 %* U h po&er plant and also some other thermal po&er plants, i!e! -au.i %ari +/aharki, 202 %*, and 0ngro Chemi al 221 %* ha)e also been proposed in the )i init' of Guddu! 2n these ir umstan es, the e"isting #"$50 %VA, 500/220 kV transformers at Guddu &ould not be suffi ient to transfer po&er from these in oming po&er plants to the 500 kV transmission s'stem espe iall' during 3ff-peak load onditions of 4anuar' &hen thermal generation is high and load demand of the s'stem is lo&! 5herefore, a the upgradation of the e"isting 220 kV Shikarpur 6e& to 500 kV &ith 2"700 %VA, 500/220 kV transformers in the )i init' of Guddu po&er station has been proposed for reliable dispersal of po&er from the in oming thermal generation around Shikarpur to the 500 kV transmission s'stem!
