Oversees ship security and ensures compliance by guests, officers, and crew. Carries out the duties and responsibilities set forth in the Ship Security Plan for Security Officers. Have knowledge of operation and use of security equipment security screening and search methods and techniques. Supervises security personnel. Conducts security awareness training for all crew and security training for security personnel. Ensures security personnel are qualified to conduct assigned duties. Ensures access control measures are in place and smooth operation at gangways and ashore when tendering. Provides assistance to the Master for shipboard discipline and prepares disciplinary reports for the Master. Carries out security measures to safeguard property of company, crew and guests. Investigates accidents, thefts, security incidents, alleged crimes and other irregular occurrences. Investigations include the elements of alleged crimes. Writes investigative reports that are comprehensive, consistent and factual. Partakes in safety drills as assigned by the Emergency Muster Program. Ensures documentation and maintenance of records as set forth in Companies SMS. Drug and Alcohol policy enforcement and logs as outlined in the SMS Provide knowledge on and operation on all security equipment. Responsible for ensuring persons are screened on and off ship. Is responsible for any other duties as assigned by the Staff Captain or Master.

VI Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The Security Officer has received the following knowledge, skills and training: License and/or schooling Flag State issued Seaman Book Experience Prior experience at HAL preferred Minimum 2 years vessel experience. Previous cruise or passenger vessel experience preferred. Previous security experience required For the safety of yourself and others on board certain physical abilities are expected to be maintained. Must be able to bend, climb, perform repetitive motion, and repetitively heavy lift. Must be able to work varied shifts which can average up to 12 hours per day everyday while on board. Must maintain physical fitness to perform tasks associated with job. VII Documents and Training required upon boarding Documents needed prior to boarding: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
