Week 8 Posted by: Charlene Sanders on Friday, November 15, 2013 12:36:06 AM EST November 14, 2013 My last

day of working at Social Services was Tuesday. It was very difficult leaving people that I genuinely care for; however, this is marking a new chapter in my life. I start my new job on November 18th. I have mixed feelings of accomplishment, fear and uncertainty. I wonder if I have made a mistake or the right step forward. Whatever happens, I can say I have stepped out to make an effort to move up in my career plans. This week I completed my internship hours completing an online module called Teaching StrategiesTS Gold. Teaching Strategies GOLD is grounded in 38 objectives that guide teachers throughout the assessment cycle. They are based on research, include predictors of school success, and are aligned with the Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework, Common Core State Standards, and early learning standards for each state. The objectives are organized into 10 areas of development and learning, including broad developmental areas, content areas, and English language acquisition. Many of the objectives also include dimensions that guide teachers thinking about various aspects of that objective, and help clarify what the objective addresses (https://www.teachingstrategies.com/content/pageDocs/teachingstrategies-gold-assessment-research-foundation.pdf). This assessment is an online assessment and I will be responsible for monitoring documentation and alignment of assessments for eight teachers. The program seems to be a great tool for both staff and parents.
