Hugo Chavez left an enviable legacy

Hugo Chavez, the leader of the deprived people, changed Venezuela within 13 years of coming to power. He spent much of his valuable time with slum dwellers to make them aware of their rights and duties in society. He talked with common people through radio or television at least once a week, where anyone could ask anything and give opinion about any matter over telephone. He reduced the unemployment rate from 20 percent to 7 percent. Safety and security of people was ensured during his governance. After 42 years of our independence, unemployment remains a major problem in our country. Our government could not give safety and security to our countrymen. Could we eliminate poverty from our country? Could we make the educational institutions free from political unrest? These are my questions to the democratic government. In Bangladesh, if the democratic government cannot fulfill the demand of people, our leaders should follow the rules and policies of Hugo Chavez.
