SHASHKIN
by Glin Alpge Gamze Balta

Shashkin was a nice nice dog, but he was very absent minded and confused.

When he went out he chased the cats and the birds.

As he chased them he would stray away from home and then get lost. Someone had to come and get him.

At home he could never find things. When Sinan asked for his slippers Shashkin could never tell which slippers to pick up.

10

When Deniz asked for the ball, so that they could play, he could never find the ball.

12

Outside he could never place things. One day when he was strolling by the lake he said, Hello Frog, to a fish! The fish said nothing. He swam on.

14

The frog said, Quack, quack, her I am! And then Shashkin knew he had a mistake.

16

Then he saw a rabbit, and he said, Hello! But he could not remember his name.

18

Shashkin thought that the turtle was a snail.

20

Just then they called to him, Shashkin, time for dinner. Shashkin sniffed and smelled the food and he had no problem getting home.

22

From that day on Shashkin could find his way, like all dogs, from the odors. He could find objects from the smell. He still had some problem remembering names!
