Colter Lee SCED 4100 Standards-based Assessment Data Project Reflection 11/20/13 For the most part, the

results that I received from the students showed that almost everybody had improved in identifying the intervals that I had played. In a few cases, some students did a little worse than the pre-assessment. However, I noticed some very big improvements from a lot of the students. When it came to scoring their assessments, I put more emphasis on their participation than correctly identifying the intervals because it is a skill that requires much more than thirty minutes. I did, however, take their improvement/proficiency into account when grading. The results of the assessment showed that, for the most part, students benefitted from the lesson that I gave. I noticed that students had an easier time identifying the intervals after I had helped them list some references and practiced with them. A few students showed the same proficiency as before or even dropped a little bit. I believe that was my fault, however. I accidentally played the wrong notes at two points. I quickly corrected myself, but I believe that I may have caused some confusion. Overall, I feel the lesson went well and that the students did perform better after the lesson had been given.
