Keshav Patel ENC 1102-0018 Professor Wolcott November 15, 2013 Introduction These collections of references are not

only academic articles about business, but are also a major concern in the business discourse community, which is racial discrimination. Racial discrimination is a big impact on some peoples lives when finding or working in the corporate world. The main audience for this journal would be everyone who is looking for a job in the business field. This is because people they need to know that female or male it doesnt matter which race you are, we can all do the same job. The audience would primarily be business people but ultimately it would be for anyone that wants to have a job in the corporate world. In this journal entry I am giving the audience a general scope of the problem with some main focused discussions. This is one of the major concerns people encounter in their daily lives in the corporate world. Religious discrimination happens very often throughout the world but is mainly seen in businesses with a variety of ethnicities working together. Over seas businesses also are impacted by this discrimination. Body These academic articles consist of several key points. The most important key point would be racial discrimination in businesses. These articles give small examples of how people are discriminated in their own work field. Being religiously discriminated in your work field is hard to deal with having to be professional. Bedi states that the

American constitutional law permits associations to discriminate (Bedi). Yet discrimination is still happening. Religious discrimination is a major concern in this community. Rasha Mourtada talks about how a businessman was discriminated because of his religion. He proves this by mentioning that Arabs and Muslims have had tough experiences in their work field after the 9/11 attack and has increased every since (Mourtada). Robison and McClure also mention in their article that religious discrimination is happening through the type of clothing one wears. Some religions may have a way they wear items on their head and in professional work fields this is discriminated (Robinson). Another major concern in this community is gender discrimination. In the article Du Plessis mentions not being able to communicate properly on board debates. One of the main reasons why agreements on the business boards are difficult to achieve is because of gender and religion discrimination (Du Plessis). These two factors go hand and hand by being a major conflict. Business happens all over the world and have a diverse board to work with, discrimination is taken in count when coming to a agreement. Conclusion What people do not know is that racial discrimination does not happen to only colors it happens to everyone and anyone. Racial discrimination also includes religion discrimination. Just because one person may believe in something yet is a different color skin tone, they often may be discriminated because that is not how society sees them. Another important point is that racial discrimination in business does not only mean corporate businesses but it also means any types of businesses such as anything to public schools to big corporate franchise companies.

Project Proposal The project proposal would be to conduct several surveys in different business companies. These surveys would consist of what each person feels and how each person feels while working in their work environment. We would administrate the survey to all the employees minus the managers. This survey should also consist of how each person views other people; it doesnt matter of what race, religion or ethnicity they are. This survey should ask why do people even judge in their work field when everyone is working together as a team? Or why is racial discrimination even thought about or happening in the there work field. People do not understand religious discrimination in the workplace. Some of the questions that should be on will the survey are the following. How confortable are the business employees when they are at work? How much do they have to hide of their true self because they know they will discriminate? Why do they have to lie about themselves and not be able to fully express themselves? Why are employees ashamed of whom they really are and why do people discriminate in the work office when work is practically their second home. Lastly but not least the survey should consist of what does discrimination mean to the employees? Where should the line be draw when co-workers are having a good laugh to when someone is discriminated?
