BEFORE READING:
Focus Attention/Activate Prior Knowledge: Introduce title, author, and illustrator of the book. Discuss cover, no. of words in title, etc. Predict What will the book be about? (Purpose for reading the book) Take a walk through the book. Activate prior knowledge. Discuss some of the pictures and words in the book to get the language of the book into the students mind. Reread
1. Remind students of some of the strategies that they might use during reading. - USE THE ONES CIRCLED. 2. Have children read book with support choosing a teachable moment of using a reading strategy to unlock unknown words.
