After learning about literacy and the many different types, I have found that I should revise my literacy memoir. Based on our readings, I feel that along with reading and writing literacy, I have literacy in sports, work, school, home, and outside of school life. ver the years, I have gained many different frames and types of knowledge throughout my life. I will start with my baseball knowledge. I have played baseball for !3 years, starting when I was " years old and continuing all the way through my # years of high school. I played for my high school team for # years as a pitcher and outfielder and have been a fan of the rioles for my whole life. ver the years, I have followed and read about many different players, teams, and games over the years. $y favorite book that I have ever read was %osh &amilton's book Beyond Belief. I read the book over 3 days and couldn't put it down. It was one of the most interesting books that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I am not a huge fan of reading, but when it comes to baseball, I could read anything. (very day, I will go to ()P* and $+B.com and will read about previous day's games, stats, trades, articles, and basically anything that relates to baseball. ,hen I was in high school, I played for a team called -eam .arolina. ,e traveled all over the state and would play in showcase tournaments for all of the fall semester. I was then asked to play for a new team in /irginia, that saw me play and wanted me to change to their team. I have been all over the state of *orth .arolina and elsewhere to play baseball. I feel that I am very literate and could tell you and e0plain to anyone, basically all of baseball. As well as baseball, I have learned the ways of where I work and how to run a pi11a place. I worked at the same place for both my 2unior and senior years of high school. ver those 3 years, I worked as a cashier and a shift leader. I started as a cashier and worked my way to a promotion after a little over a year. In my position, I would deal with the money for the day, the labor percent, sending people home and making sure that the store would make money. I would

also deal with anything that a cashier or regular employee couldn't deal with such as angry customers or other complaints. I knew the ins and outs of the restaurant, the owners, and the day to day processes of 45Pi11a. (very day I would work, I would come in, clock in and start running the ovens. I would work the ovens all night long and would work the kitchen until I left. nce the cooks left, I would cook until close and then would clean the kitchen and would start the paperwork in the back. All of the paperwork would include filling out the sales for the day, clock in and clock out times, and the money. ver the 3 years, I have learned the business and the operations of 45Pi11a. I also have literacy in my family. I have learned everything I know from my mother and brothers. $y parent got divorced when I was !6 years old and veer since I have lived with and learned from my mother. $y literacy and the way I am and live was all because of my mom. $y mom taught me how to live off of the little resources that we were able to have. $y dad was very limited in supporting my mother and me over the years. I learned to make it through years on a very limited budget. I was unable to live similar to the lifestyle that my brothers were able to live but we made it through. ver the years, our financial struggles and limits have been lifted and have faded away. $y mother got hit with a large amount of ta0es and was paying that off over the years and once she paid that off, it lifted a lot of pressure and struggles off of us. I have become literate in the ways of budgeting and in the sense of our family. Part #: After reading over what I have written, I noticed that I have not mentioned my literacy in business. I have taken a large amount of business classes throughout high school and I feel that I can consider myself literate in business. ver the four years of college, I believe I will become

more literate over my time at 7*... 8uring high school, my favorite class and favorite teacher was for my )ports and (ntertainment $arketing class. -his class incorporated two of the more interesting topics in my life, business marketing and sports. Also, my teacher, $r. $abe was one of my more interesting and favorite teachers. I was able to talk to him about anything and actually act the way I would with my friends around him. &e was one of my most interesting and e0citing teachers I have had. n top of my interesting teacher, I was able to learn about marketing for sports situations as well as learn about marketing. $arketing to me is a very interesting topic and I feel that I could be able to finish with a degree in it. -hroughout this piece, I feel that I have mentioned and went into detail on all of the types of literacies that I feel I ac9uired over my years.
