Statement of Scope for the Annotated Bibliography

This essay will explore the hardships of working in plants and factories with poor working conditions. Rules and safety regulations should be put into effect universally. The consequence of poor management these safety regulations are not being made mandatory which results in many injuries and accidents. This selected bibliography include sources that include statistics and many opinions on safety in the workplace. While I have sources that are statistically accurate inside a workplace, I do not have sources that come from outside in a working field. Afsana Bhuiyan discusses that health and safety are below satisfactory level causing workers to suffer work related injuries. Dale Huskin writes that since 1970 when congress passed the OSHA and Health Act, injuries and illnesses have decreased by 67%. But also goes on to state that the workplace fatalities have decreased by 65 percent, while U.S. employment has almost doubled. From the Obesity, Fitness & Well Week, many workplaces are enforcing workplace safety and that has now opened up new doors for educational institutions to open up across the country. Lamar Reinsch feels that workplace safety is a national issue and it should be enforced everywhere. Good companies prevent accidents and protect employees from injuries. Andrew Watterson expresses that number of high incidents and other accidents should have gotten peoples attention outside of the workplace, but safety in plants have still gone unregulated.
