types plants that are found in a lions habitat Different types of construction paper and magazine Age Group: 4-5 years old Group Size: 6

Directions: 1. Have the children help clear out a specific spot in the room 2. Have them take different colored construction paper and magazine paper 3. Have the children shred the paper in small pieces and have them spread the pieces all over the designated area. (that will be used as the ground of the lions habitat) 4. Take the children on a nature walk and have them pick up rocks and leaves that they think might be found in a lions habitat. Have them bring the items back to class and place them in the area where the lions habitat is being created. 5. In an over head projector place a stencil of a lion so that the children can trace the lion onto the wall and color it in. 6. When they are done with the lion use stencils of other animals found in a lions habitat and explain how those animals are vital to a lions survival in the wild. 7. Once that is finished the children can also create 9in a different part of the room) a lions natural habitat that lives in the Savannahs so that they may see that not all lions are alike nor do they live the same way and that they eat different things.
