Reflection

This lesson is all about rotational symmetry. The use of the elmo is vital to the lesson. The students are able to observe through the reflection on the screen the ability to rotate a triangular image through the various degrees of symmetry. Without the use of the elmo and the projection on the screen, the lesson would take forever to individually show each student. The elmo projects the images on the screen for the whole class to see. It can show images in color and allow the teacher to write directly on the worksheets. We had the students come up and maneuver the triangles through various stages of a 360 turns to determine if there were any rotational symmetries to the different figures we used. This lesson was very good because it allowed for hands on opportunities as well as projection capabilities.
