Citation Basics

There are lots of good citation makers out there to help you format your citations correctly. This is a link to NC States citation maker: http://www.lib.ncsu.edu/citationbuilder/ Make sure you enter as much information about your source as possible. Hints: 1. Article Title = web page (or the subsection of a website you are on) 2. Website Title = name of the larger website (for example, if you pulled an article from the New York Times online for a source, the New York Times would be the larger website) 3. The URL is the web address (http://..) Citing within your paper: At the end of each fact or idea youve pulled from a source put the authors name in parenthesis followed by the period that would end the sentence. If you dont have an authors name, you will use the article title in the parenthesis. For example Sentence (authors name). Sentence (Article Title). Quoted sentence (authors name).
