There are 7 open $hords on the guitar. They are $alled open $hords be$ause so e o' the notes in these $hords are played as open strings

that you dont have to put 'ingers on 'rets to a$$o plish. That does not ean that the entire $hord is #ust all open strings% 8ust a 'ew notes o' ea$h o' these 7 $hords are open.
