Full outline of Programme Idea Music and Fashion Does the stereotype of mainstream music link with the mainstream fashion industry E.g. what music is played in shops, such as Topshop play chart music, whereas afflecks play more indie/punk/alternative/rock music. For example, Vans store in Manchester sells stereotypical skater fashion, and play pop-punk music such as Good Charlotte. What celebrities wear, how people take inspiration in their fashion and how they support the stereotypes Narrator lead Interview possibilities interviews with shop workers Interview with Mark Radcliffe DJ on BBC Radio 6 Interviews with teenagers who class themselves to be in certain social groups what music they listen to

Why the programme idea will work (target audience) Our intended audience for this documentary is teenagers/young adults aged around 15-20 years old. We aimed to address all different styles of music and fashion, such as more 'mainstream' shops like TopShop and the Top 40 charts, and more individual shops like charity shops and 'indie' style bands like Two Door Cinema Club, based on the fact our documentary is about how different types of music influences fashion sense. Would be relevant to a variety social groups as a form of representation One off documentary isnt too expensive, and wouldnt need to be invested in for a long-term running of the show Where/When will it be broadcast and why After watershed explicit music can be played 9:00 on Channel 4 Prime TV time for young adults & teenagers
