Lawson was asked to comment whether she had authorised a long list of expenses that members of the household,

including her inner circle known as "Team Cupcake", incurred on Saatchi credit cards and accounts. They included thousands of pounds spent on fine wine from Annabel's in Berkeley Square, party bills at the Shoreditch House and Soho House clubs totalling over 22,000, 1,250 for a spa day at the Four Seasons hotel, 2,800 on laser hair removal, and 1,400 on Joseph dresses.Lawson also revealed that Saatchi kept "a huge wodge of cash" on top of the fridge for domestic use. "It was in a drawer for a while then he moved it into a zippy freezer bag," she said. "He didn't like to use credit cards himself." Earlier she described how wounded and betrayed she had felt when was told of allegations Elisabetta Grillo had defrauded her and Saatchi. "She broke our heart. It's very difficult when you find out that someone you have loved and trusted could behave that way. In my heart of hearts I don't believe Lisa to be a bad person but I do believe that she doesn't have a very strong moral compass." She said she did not want her to go to jail, but wanted her to confess. She described her sister Francesa Grillo as a "slight fantasist" who had once told her children that she was an international lawyer. "There was a strange sense of entitlement that crept up on her," Lawson said. Towards the end of Lawson's evidence, Metzer read an statement signed by her in October in which she warned Saatchi "will do whatever he can to damage not only my interests but the interests of my children and the Grillo trial will give him this opportunity". Throwing her arms wide she told the jury: "And look how it has played out." The Grillos deny the charges. The trial continues.
