The seven years war was mainly a result of trading, and wanting to expand.

The French were in lots of settlements in lower populations, and the British were in few settlements and had high populations. So the British needed to expand, but unlucky for them, they were on French land. They were expanding westwards to Ohio Valley. (On the Mississippi river) the French could expand westwards but the English could not. This came to be the first battleground between the French and the English in the new world.
