AMERICAN HISTORY

INTRO
The purpose of this presentation is to expand your knowledge of America. We will discuss British colonization, the American Revolution, the Constitution, and modern America.

BRITISH COLONIZATION

In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue. The colonies were built for religious freedom and more opportunities.

Jamestown established in 1607.

AMERICAN REVOLUTION

The French and Indian War left British in debt.

Taxation without representation

America and Great Britain did not start parting ways until 1763.

Declaration of Independence (1776)

War dragged on from 1775 to 1783.

AMERICAN CONSTITUTION

This document is the result of the failed Articles of Confederation.

Ratified on September 17, 1787 Established separation of powers, checks and balances, and unalienable rights No more monarchy rule

MODERN-DAY AMERICA

Today, America is more geared toward diversity, equal opportunity, and freedom.
