In December of 2013, I graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education along with a minor in Family and Consumer Science Education. When it comes to children, I am passionate about their success and growth with personal and academic achievements. Some of the skills that show my passion for teaching include; a strong work ethic, caring nature, and fun personality. Other skills directly related to teaching that I practice are collaboration, knowledge and ideas for implementing curriculum, as well as effective classroom management techniques. In the teaching profession, I will be a reflective teacher that looks for growth and advancement with these and other skill sets. One college experience that strengthened my teaching experience was my Resident Advisor position. Even though it was with young adults and not the K-8 range, I learned how to better manage my time and work with a large team. My favorite aspect was being the go-to person for my residents, because I constantly seek opportunities to assist others. At Chief Joseph Elementary School, I student taught in a Kindergarten classroom with Londa Hart. At the end of my placement, I left with many great teaching and management strategies, such as how to effectively implement technology in the classroom. Furthermore, Laurie Kessner at Great Falls High also served as an exceptional teacher model during my minor placement for student teaching. I would like to work for the Great Falls Public School District, because I want to give back to the district that supported my K-12 experience and launched my interest in the teaching profession.
