Questionnaire Analysis

The table shows that only 7 people took our questionnaire. This may make our finding unreliable, as we dont have a representative sample. But more males than females took our survey, which may imply that the male gender is more drawn to our music genre.

100% of the people that answered our questionnaire are ages 16 to 17. It shows that this is the age group that like our alternative hip hop genre. Therefore we have to tailor our video to appeal to them.

Most of our sample prefers the Hip Hop/Rap genre, which is good as that is the genre of our song for our video. It means that already we have drawn our audience, as this is the genre they typically listen to.

Over half our sample listen to songs that have music videos, this suggests there is a demand for it. So as a group we would have to make our video so it conforms to certain conventions they are use to. But also we have to challenge them so that they are not bored but still engaged.

Majority of our sample view their music videos through the Internet. This is good as that is the media platform we would view our, music video on. It makes it accessible for my target audience.

Most of our sample prefers a video with a narrative structure. We are now going to focus on the narrative of our video because we know what are target audience want.

It is beneficial for us that majority of our sample prefer obscure music videos because we are using the alternative hip-hop genre. Although we fit certain conventions most of them are challenged. It tends to produce elements that are not expected and tend to create mystery and confusion.

Although we are an alternative Hip Hop genre we want to have the same effect as typical Hip Hop. We want our audiences to be influenced by our video narratives, the costumes we wear and the messages of our music and video.

We can put effort into our video as most of our sample dont look at a video to buy the artists album. It means we dont rush our video in hope of marketing our video.

Independent artists predominantly make the alternative Hip Hop genre. So our target audience may like our song and video as it is made independently.
