My objective is to continue to build on current Forest Technician and Wildland Firefighting experience through full time summer employment. The IRPG states that skills develop through extensive training, dedicated practice, and experience. I look forward to following that model by working hard as part of a team and striving to learn as much as possible through hands on experience.

Field Training/Experience
3/1 3/9/12 NMU Fire Cats Oleano and Stephen Foster St. Park Florida

Volunteer/ trainee
Day 1 and 2: training involving fire shelters, tools, pumps and hose lays. Day 3: Prescribed burning at Stephen Foster St. Park, 30 acres. Jobs involved patrolling the fire line, using the drip torch, fire suppression (due to 6 spot over fires) and mop up. Day 4: prescribed burn at Oleano St. Park, 75 acres. Jobs involved digging line to prep area for burn, using the drip torch, driving and operating a type 6 engine and mop up.
