Final Reflective Letter: Dear Dr.

Hartman,

Through this class I feel as though I have grown greatly with my knowledge of the rhetorical situation. I have demonstrated this through the various drafts I have written this semester. I have always struggled with my purpose of writing and I didnt know how to fully grasp the concept of purpose until I was presented with the rhetorical situation diagram in class. I labeled this diagram under my daybook page for its influence it has had on my writings assignments this semester. For my two polished pieces, I chose the descriptive writing piece and the multimodal piece. For my descriptive writing piece, I read my graded working draft from ending to beginning and I found multiple errors that I didnt see before. I changed everything from sentence structure, to grammatical errors, and stronger transitional sentences. For example, my paragraph on my visit to Malibu, I added a more detailed transition sentence that I didnt have before in my graded working draft. In my fourth paragraph I found repeated phrases that I didnt see before and I also had metaphors that I changed to make the reading more relatable for my audience to understand (ex. Mount Everest to tall as the Tallest Mountains). As far as my multimodal piece, I listened to your audio feedback and went back to my previous work to incorporate a more detailed, finished piece. I decided to connect my multimodal piece with drawn line to have more connectivity with what I was trying to portray (The World of Social Media). I also decided to make this piece more personal by using pictures from my own social media sites and accurately citing pictures from my websites. Instead of saying pictures from my Instagram I cited the source as Pictures from Brett Holida. My daybook pages for me this semester was a basis for all my working drafts and for other assignments. I used my daybook for word vomits, note taking, process work, and for rough drafts for my working drafts. One last

area where I feel where I have grown this semester is my reflective work. If you read my first reflective letter to my last, you see I am more detailed and know how to vividly tell you what I am trying to portray in my work through this reflective process.
