Bad Beef Jerky

Pharaoh didnt like the boils God sent. The Lord told Moses to tell Pharaoh that if he didnt let the people go to worship Him, that He would send the full force of plagues against the Egyptians. Narrators: 3 N1: We threw out a lot of ground beef last week. N2: Whatd you do that for? N1: The grocery where my mom purchased the meat had a recall last week. N2: What a huge waste! N1: It was better than eating bad meat and getting sick. N2: One time, I got food poisoning from some bad milk. It had sat out too long, and it made me sick.

N1: I remember one time when my little sister threw up in the car on the way to school, I started gagging as well. My mom got mad at me. N2: My dad took me to the emergency and it was yuck! There were some other kids there puking in the room. I just about threw up myself hearing them. The nurse tried to make me take some yucky stuff to get me to throw up, but I could not take it. It tasted like bad beef jerky. N1: How do you know what bad, yucky, beef jerky taste like if you have never tasted it? N2: I just know! N1: Now that sounds silly to me. N3: Did I hear someone has some beef jerky? Mmmmm good! N1: He said some medicine tasted like bad beef jerky. N3: Did you hear what happened to the cattle in Egypt? It was a terrible plague. N1: Did they throw up, too? N2: Yea! They must have had some bad beef jerky. N3: God had sent Moses to tell Pharaoh to let the people go. If Pharaoh did not let them go to worship God, He was going to send a terrible plague on the livestock. N1: I thought they all died!

N2: They did; they made all that bad beef jerky. N3: The interesting thing about it was that none of the Israelites cattle died. N2: More beef jerky! N3: The Lord told Moses and Aaron to take a handful of soot from the furnace. N1: What did they do with soot? N3: Moses tossed it in the air in front of Pharaoh and boils broke out on the men and animals both. In fact, boils came on all the Egyptians. The magicians couldnt stand before Moses because of all the boils. N2: Ouch! I remember the time when I stepped on some hot charcoal that my grandmother had dumped on the ground after a cookout. Zowie! It hurt like everything! N1: I bet it did! What did you do? N2: I ran up the hill and stuck my foot under some cold water in the bathroom sink. N3: Pharaoh didnt like the boils either. The Lord told Moses to tell Pharaoh that if he didnt let the people go to worship Him, that He would send the full force of plagues against the Egyptians. N1: That Pharaoh was sure a stubborn king!

N2: He sure was! Why didnt God just strike him dead? N1: What does it matter where we worship God? N2: We go to church and worship God several times a week. Sometimes, we worship God at my grandparents home on vacations. God is everywhere! N3: God is everywhere, but He wanted to bring the Israelites away from Egypt. When God forgives us, he forgives us for our sin and helps us to live for Him. He gives us a new heart that does not want to be around things that will make us make bad choices. Pharaoh wanted Moses to pray for him. Moses did pray what God wanted him to pray and asked for the fleas to be removed. N1: Did God take them away? N3: He sure did, but Pharaoh still hardened his heart and would not let the people go to worship God in the wilderness. N2: He sure was stubborn! N1: Sometimes, are too! N3: God says that stubbornness is a sin and we must confess it to Him. N1: Yikes! My mom says to me all the time, Why are you so stubborn? N2: Is that really a sin?

N3: God sees our hearts and He is the judge. The Word says to honor our parents and obey them. Only we know if we are keeping His commandments AND our parents see too! N1: I think Id better check with Him on this! N2: Me Too! I want to keep Gods commandments. N3: I hope you boys and girls feel the same way. God loves you and wants to be your Savior, too. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us from all our sin and to cleanse our hearts for all unrighteousness I John 1:9. Jeanne McIntosh, October 2008. All rights reserved.
