Broken windows theory This presentation shows The Broken Windows theory as a clear example which is explained in the

the next situation to make it understandable. Something like an abandoned building with a broken window signals a careless attitude toward property, and therefore an absence of respect for the law. The broken window is the first step in a neighborhoods slow deterioration and as times goes on there will be other show of abandonment and decay. This theory which was formulated in 1982 by George L. Kelling and James Q. Wilson suggests that when abandoned buildings with broken windows are unrepaired, there will be more broken windows and for that reason the building will attract criminals to hang out in this place. About this topic I think that in an organization, a manager or any director must be carefully and have its own rules. For example in the sport bar in which we are working we should watch for the employees and let them know in what position are and let them know what work they have to do and make sure that they are doing it, all this with zero tolerance or excuse.

The surprising science of happiness In this video Dan Gilbert first of all, talks about how the brain has grown over time which leads to the development of new structures in the human. Talking about how the brain works he mentions something they call the "impact bias," as Mr. Gilbert says is the tendency for the simulator to work badly. For the simulator to make you believe that different outcomes are more different than in fact they really are. Also this man explain something very interesting for me, he says that a recent study showing how major life traumas affect people suggests that if something bad happened to you and it happened over three months ago, it has no impact whatsoever on your happiness and this is with most people. Finally he talks about a concept, the synthetic happiness which is real and comes when acknowledging that what you have is better than what you lost. This feeling was tested on a series of patients with amnesia as he says in the example of the hospital. It is hard to fake synthetic happiness when you cannot remember it. To conclude this issue I say that is important to know about this and how this happen with our brains because all of we have moments of happiness and moments that we would not like to happen.
