Fuentes ENGL 1101 The three literacy events The first literacy event in my life was learning how to write my name for the first time, my mother taught that me when I was three years old. In that time my mother saw me with a panicle and a sheet of paper that was full of doodling; she smiled at me then she taught me how to write my name on the same sheet of paper. After seventeen years, that moment when my mother smiled is still pushing me to read and write.

The second one when I wrote my first article in the magazine of the foundation that I work in. The media committee in the foundation asked me to write an article for the magazine after they saw some of my writing and they liked it. So they decided to choose me to write for the magazine. After that I was really afraid from writing because a lot of people will read the article and it is the first to me to share my ideas in public.

My third literacy event is reading one of my poems in front of a poetry expert. I discovered that I have a talent for writing poems after the death of our prince, who was popular between his people. Because I was so sad in that time, I wrote my first poem. As a result of discovering my talent for poetry, in the summer of 2007 I joined a foundation that sponsors and refines the youth talents and provides them with life skills courses.
