Juan Sebastin Snchez Mendoza Charles Baudelaire Biography Baudelaire was born in Paris on April 9 of 1821 and died

the August 31 of 1867. Baudelaire was a French poet, art critic, and translator. Considerate one of the most important modern poets, Baudelaire influenced in the development of the symbolism poetry. His father, Joseph Franois Baudelaire, died when he was a child. Then, the next year, his mother married with Jacques Aupick. Baudelaire never loved his stepfather and chooses the way of the bohemian life, using alcohol and hard drugs. He had a weird relationship with his mother, he wrote : "There was in my childhood a period of passionate love for you". Baudelaire began to frequent prostitutes and contracted gonorrhea and syphilis during this period. Those illness affected him with pain until the day of his dead. He knew some importanty artist and writers like Balzac, Delacroix, Gautier, among others. Some of his most important works are: Les Fleurs du mal made in 1857, Les paradis artificiels made in 1860, Le Spleen de Paris/Petits Pomes en Prose made in1869 and Twenty Prose Poems made in1988, among others. His dead was hard and painful in part by the excesses of his life. In his last years Baudelaire was in a semi paralyzed state. Baudelaire died in Paris the August 31 of 1867.
