My name is Jasmine Averette and this is my English 1101 Portfolio.

In this portofolio you will see a collection of assignments I have completed throughout this English course. Many assignments are very personal to me, and have helped me grow as an individual. Literacy is about being able to perform a task and share how to perform that task with others. I believe that I have have executed this to a tee. Being a literate human being, can have many definitons based off the person but to me you would have to understand literacy. You would have to open your mind and be vulnerable to learn things to do so. As a student I have learned many ways to learn new things, for example expressing myself is 3 words was quite a challenge even though it wouldnt seem like it would be. This has changed me in a way because now I know that I can be simple, but my words can have so much impact. This is just one example out of a good amount of assignments that have challenged my intellect because they made me think. As a student you know you are actually learning something when youre thinking. As a person I have learned to look deep into myself and my inner emotions. Many of these assignments have challenged me to be creative through my work and inspired me not be afraid to be myself. I enjoyed them because of the fact I could always be myself and not judged for it. I could embrace my weaknesses in my reflections to the papers I wrote, and I also could embrace my strong points. As a member of this course, I have learned to worked with others. Approaching the end of this porfolio is like bringing every piece of the puzzle together, to complete the project iself. It takes a lot of effort to put a masterpiece together and litle effort to put something together. The positive aspects of this course was that I had a great instructor, I enjoyed the assignments, and I enjoyed working with my peers. There were no negative aspects for me, because I really enjoyed this course. As you read my portfolio, I hope you learn more about the person I am. Now that the course is over, I will carry everything Ive learned onto the future courses I enroll in, especially the classroom ettiquette!
