Nursing Considerations
Do not give electrolytefree mannitol with blood Monitor serum electrolytes periodically Culture infection site Have vitamin K available in case hypoprothrombinema occurs. Give drugs with meals and at bedtime Report if patient is having sore throat, fever or bleeding Instruct for regular medical follow-up care Do not give live virus vaccines with immunosuppressive doses Use caution with occlusive dressings

Bactericidal: Inhibits synthesis of bacterial cell wall, causing cell death.
