I will introduce the activity to the children after all the activities and projects from the thematic unit are over and I will let them know that this will be our last activity before the thematic unit ends.

Things to discuss with the children prior to the field trip. I will need to discuss safety issues with the children as well as security and responsibility. I will have to teach them about the eggs, lizards, snakes, and birds and their habitats before we go on the trip. Things to bring to their attention while on the field trip. I will encourage the children to compare the different animals we learned about as well as compare their eggs and habitats. Learning Objectives: 1). Children will learn to be responsible and look out for one another when outside of the classroom. 2). The children will learn about the lifestyle of reptiles by having the opportunity to see them up close. 3). The children will know that there are many different kinds of birds and although they are the same animal they all have their differences. Activity Evaluation. If a child is lost, injured or sick on the trip then their parents will be informed as well as the police and/ or ambulance depending of the situation. We will have one teacher go with the child and police/ nurse and give them contact information while we have three teachers/volunteers go with the rest of the children to finish the trip. If a child is lost then we will gather all children on the bus/van with one teacher then have three volunteers help security find the missing child.
