The focus of our study is on factors affecting the transitioning of new graduate nurses at Mount St. Johns Medical Center (MSJMC), from the student role to that of the Registered Nurse (RN). Its purpose is to determine what factors impact the process by which the new graduate moves from the period of uncertainty, to being comfortable within his/her role as an RN. The findings of the study will be used to help to inform the orientation programme for new graduates at MSJMC, with a view of helping to improve it. In this way, we believe that our study will benefit MSJMC. We are hereby seeking your consent to interview recent graduates of the Antigua State College School of Nursing, who currently work in your institution.
